Donna Marie's Work is Inspirational
Today I was browsing blogs of the contributors to this weeks Outdoor Wednesday party. When I came across the blog Donna's Den I admired the photos she contributed and laughed at some of the comments she made about her subjects. When I scrolled down to read some of her past blogs I stopped completely when I came to a photo of a butterfly busy at work inside a buttercup. It was such a wonderful picture I knew I had my painting project for the day. I ran upstairs to get some watercolor paper and started sketching immediately.
The butterfly was simple enough, but I didn't know what I was going to do with the background. At first I painted in a lot of the leaves, but it looked too busy and I felt it took away from the butterfly. Then I decided to mottle the background. The background is a little overworked because of the number of glazes it took to blend all the leaves I had painted, yet I'm still happy with the way the painting came out.
I want to thank Donna for being okay with me using her photo as inspiration for my art. Go on over to Donna's Den to see more shots of the butterfly and her other photos.
Best Wishes
A.Marie

ReplyDeleteYour painting is absolutely beautiful! The background is just perfect! The Butterfly and the Buttercup practically jump off of the page! I love it!!! I am honored to have you paint one of my pictures! :)
Yesterday, I went to the park for lunch, I took my camera just in case!!!! :) To my right was a Grreat White Egret hunting in the water. To my left were three shiny black Ravens. JACKPOT!!!!!!! I took my lens cap off, turned on my camera... and my battery was dead!!! UUUGGHHHHH..... the Egret looked like it was posing for me! I swear those loud Ravens were laughing at me! (LOL) I am such an amateur, but I love the great outdoors and I LOVE photography.
I am so glad that I was able to inspire you! You are welcomed to use any pics on my blog whenever you like!
Thanks again, and your painting is beautiful!
